That was really lovely. I've enjoyed seeing your story & project grow through this program. I love your drawing style, and use of shadows & minimal color. The parts that captured my attention, were actually parts with minimal dialog. It was the part where the girl noticed him. I also loved the parts where there was character dialog, instead of narration. Good job & kind regards. May you continue to use your talents to share such heartwarming stories.

I love the civil right march, great depression, and other important moments in history that the main character regrets not learning before his grandfather passed away. The lesson and moral of the story is the most important one I've seen yet. Your story has the greatest potential. Please keep working on it. I would call the story Handkerchief. Something you passed down to your family members, along with the memories, and knowledge on life. Experience and history is important. Congrats on the work you've done thus far. Great story.

I love how you added the scene in the hospital! The fact that he puts on the blazer of his grandfather later is such a great detail. And great that the mom has a bigger part in the story. The artwork is wonderful. Lovely ending.
Great work, Nazish.

Hey there! This is a very touching story. I believe you can trim it a little bit for the sake of clarity and rhythm. However I love the drawings, specially the character of the grandpa! He is super expressive. I can see a whole long feature potential here. Keep up the good work!

Thanks Ahmira! I used Storyboard Pro for some of the drawings and photoshop for some of the drawings. For edit I used Premiere Pro, but storyboard pro would have been fine for editing this too.

Great reel! You clearly have a strong sense of who the grandpa is. I think someone else mentioned this, but I was little confused about the structure of the family and getting the mom more involved I think would help. Show your side characters the same amount of love your main ones get, even if it's not all up on screen! Good work

Thanks John-Charles! Yes, its still very much a work in progress still but I will be giving his mother a little more time in the film as well : )

Really great story and very nice drawings. Your boards are always clear and and your characters were well developed. If you were to work on it some more I’d recommend incorporating the Mom in a few scenes, even if it’s to encourage him to listen to his grandfathers stories. Fantastic work! I really enjoyed the story.

Thank you Richard! Very nice suggestion and I will be making the mother a little more a part of the story. Much of this is just foundational and is still very much a work in progress : )

Grandfather Story Reel

A young boy named Isaiah learns some valuable lessons about life and family through the relationship he has with his grandfather.

I would like to thank my parents, my uncle, and my grandfather whom I never had the chance to meet. Aside from all my close friends and family who have always supported me every step of the way, I would like to thank the team at Story Xperiential and all the participants for all the wonderful feedback, suggestions and encouragement!

Special Thanks:
